Barna GAA Club could be looking forward to an overhaul of the community’s sporting facilities.
At a special meeting of Barna Co-op last night, members voted overwhelming to sell a plot of land at Clochscoilte to the club.
To date, Barna GAA has leased its home pitch and dressing rooms from the Co-op on the 8 acre site.
Following the club’s committment to use the land in the best interests of the community, the Co-op agreed to sell for 67 thousand euro.
Planning is the only obstacle for the planned development, which includes GAA and soccer pitches, basketball courts, a gym and pool room.
