The Barna seniors face Caltra this coming Saturday in the opening round of the Galway Senior Championship. The match is fixed for Tuam Stadium at five o’clock. All club supporters are asked to come out and support the lads.

There will be fund-raiser for the trip to Belmullet for the national Comortas on May 20th at 8pm in Sheridans.

The club would like to extend congratulations to James Keane who started in goals for the Galway minors last Sunday in the opening round of the Connaught championship, in the ladies national league final the parish was well represented with Gay O’Brien (manager), Nigel Concannon (Trainer) and Dora O’Gorman (player) all involved despite putting up a strong performance they were unable to prevent Cork claiming a three in a row of league titles.

The Barna U14 girls started their league campaign in Ballygar last Monday evening, considering the long journey involved credit goes to all 19 girls that took part in recording a great win that hopefully will be built on in the forthcoming league campaign. The girls scored 4-6 to 2-4 with fine performances from all girls and notably Sarah Cahill and Valerie Brosnan in defence the new midfield partnership of Erica Mellott and Eimear Kelly Greally, Orna Cunningham and Katie Reen in the forwards.
