Barna GAA welcomes the decision of the members of Comharchumann Bearna Teo to sell its lands at Clochscoilte based on the planning application submitted by Barna GAA to Galway County Council which was approved in December 2010.
In order that the whole community can benefit from the new facility the club has given an undertaking that once the facility is opened all clubs and societies within the Parish will have reasonable access to it.
The club would like to thank the Comharchumann Bearna members who came out and voted in favor of the motion, Sean Dockery Architect and Associates for their great so far on the project, which was approved without any objections. The club would also like to thank Minister Éamon Ó Cuív T.D. for the great support he has given this project.
The club are now meeting with the relevant funding organisations so that work can be begin on the project as soon as possible.
The U21s face An Spideal this coming Saturday in the U21 A shield competition. The match has a three O’Clock throw in time at Furbo pitch.
The club would like to extend its congratulation to John Connolly who was recently appointed the Secretary of the West Board GPC
Club Registration will take place on Thursday 24th in the Hotel 12 from 7pm -9 pm, the option of registering on line is also available.
The dinner dance will take place on March 12th at the Connemara Coast.
