The U16 girls got their League campaign off to a winning start with a win over Grainne Mhaols at Barna pitch. Both teams played with great heart in difficult underfoot conditions with both teams trading scores until Barna made a breakthrough with goals from Maighread Mc Avincey and Ruth Keady to take a lead into half time. Some great defending from Valerie Brosnan, Sarah Cahill and Sorcha O’Toole kept the visitors at bay until they leveled scores with 15 minutes to go. The Barna girls rallied and secured the win with a well taken goal from Kaylan Folan and point from Roisin Nolan. The Barna girls produced a great team performance to overcome a very determined Grainne Mhaols and look forward to their next game against Carraroe.
U14/16 training continues every Monday and Wednesda the U12/10s start back on Wednesday 30th March at Barna pitch
