Barna GAA would like to congratulate the three lads from the club who were involved with the Galway minor football team who enjoyed provincial glory last weekend.
Barna GAA’s Ian Kent, Ernán McDonagh and James Grealis were among the Galway squad that defeated Sligo in the Connacht final replay at Tuam Stadium last Friday.
It is a massive achievement for the lads but they haven’t much time to dwell on the success as they are involved again this weekend.
The prize for provincial glory is an All-Ireland quarter-final clash with Munster runners-up, Tipperary at Tullamore at 4pm this coming Monday. It will be preceded by the meeting of Sligo and Kerry at 2pm.
Best of luck to the lads in the quarter-final.
Best of luck also to Barna GAA’s Paddy Naughton, a member of the Galway senior panel, and selector Sean Conlon, as they plot the downfall of Donegal in the All-Ireland qualifier on Saturday at Croke Park at 6pm.
Meanwhile, Barna GAA’s minor A championship fixture against St James, which has been postponed twice, has been provisionally rescheduled for next Wednesday, August 5 at 7.30pm at a venue to be confirmed.
