Féile preparations in full swing as Barna awaits arrival of Austin Stacks

Preparations are in full swing in Barna GAA for the visit of Austin Stacks
on Friday June 27 for the U14s Féile competition.

A total of 13 local host families have kindly volunteered to have the Austin Stacks’ players stay with them over the weekend and our visitors from the Kingdom are looking forward to their trip up West! Barna GAA is very grateful to these families for their generosity in opening their homes to the travelling lads.

Barna U14s’ fixtures over the weekend are as follows:

The opening game is on Friday June 27 at 5pm v Magherafelt in Pearse Stadium and this is followed by a repeat of the County Féile Semi Final v Salthill in The Prairie. On Saturday June 28, Barna play Austin Stacks at 11am in Furbo – over the course of this morning also, the clubs U8-12 groups will play a special ‘Féile Blitz’ and all will be in Furbo to cheer on the  U14s as they tackle the Kerry Féile Champions!

Saturday evening, the action moves to Salthill again where from 4pm, Barna will play either a quarter final in the cup or Féile Shield and more details on this will be on the club’s Facebook over the weekend. This promises to be a memorable weekend for the club and a festival of  juvenile football in Galway.

Some 100 visitors from Tralee will travel to Barna for the weekend and we would ask all club members and the wider Barna community, to give a warm welcome to them and to come out and support our U14s over the course of the four games in Salthill and Furbo.

Full updates on the games will be on the club’s website barnagaa.com over the weekend and the club wishes the team and management the very best of luck in the All-Ireland Féile tournament.
