Alcohol and Drug Policy Statement
Barna GAA Clun will not condone the possession or supply of illegal drugs, and is opposed to the consumption of alcohol, to its underage members.
Events hosted and organised by the club at which alcoholic beverages are being served must not be advertised in a way as to place emphasis on alcohol, and underage events or meetings should take place in an alcohol free zone.
The club will seek to provide guidance for members, staff, parents or guardian about how to deal with incidents within the club involving drug use and the consumption of alcohol for underage and minor members.
Disciplinary action
The club will take the appropriate disciplinary action in the case of use, possession or supply of illegal drugs, and also in the case of unacceptable behaviour arising from the consumption of alcohol. This may range from a verbal reprimand to expulsion from the club.
Welfare and support for members
Details of support services where club members can get confidential advice if they have an alcohol or drug related problem, or are seeking information, are displayed in the club’s dressing rooms.
