Barna U14's took part last week-end in the Feile (pictured right), this is the first time the girls have fielded a team in this competition and has shown that the girls can compete with the best teams in the county at this age group.
The Barna girls were included in the group with Corofin, Dunmore and Salthill/Knocknacarra. They faced Salthill/ Knocknacarra in the first game and traded scores with them in the first half but the seasiders took an early lead in the second half which they would not relinquish and ran out winners.
Next up was group favourites Corofin, and they lived up to their billing as they played with strong breeze in the first half and scored some fine goals. The Barna girls rallied in the second half but could not overtake a fine Corofin team. The last game in the group allowed both teams to play with freedom as Neither Dunmore or Barna could qualify for the semis and were in a position to ensure all girls took an active part in the Feile.
Credit goes to all the girls that took part on the day and represented the club in a very good manner on and off the field.
